Be forewarned, I'm going to rant.
I hate Comcast. Well actually, I have a love hate relationship with them.
We're trying to save some money in our household budget, and I found out that I'm paying way too much for home phone service and wireless service while I'm thinking about it.
So, I call comcast to see if it'd be worth it to switch to their infamous phone, Internet, TV plan. I can. It'll be great. I'll save $70 a month if I switch my phone service to Comcast. So I go ahead and authorize the change. The dude on the phone was all excited at how much money I was going to save, and "there's no extra fees, no installation charges like Verizon has," he told me. Whatever. Another dude shows up at my door yesterday to install whatever doojabby is needed for me to get my phone thru Comcast, but since I don't have a phone jack near a cable jack, someone has to come back on Monday to route a phone line into my basement...whatever. No biggie.
Well, the guy leaves me the paperwork and on it says there IS a freakin' installation fee of $131. What!?! Then I notice that my beloved Noggin channel and National Geographic Channel are gone...so I call. Turns out, to get the awesome money saving deal, I had to down grade my cable service. That makes sense, and in all honesty, I don't need Noggin, Q watches too much T.V. anyway. But, I wasn't told that's what was happening. And not to mention the flat out lie I was told that there would be no installation fee. The boogers. I'm totally about to call the "escalation" department (that's what they call it). And if they mean that I'm about to take things a step further and scream at some other peon, then I'll call it that too. I'm about to escalate!!!!!!!
I just don't like dishonesty, and I know I'm going to lose this fight, but someone is going to hear about it! Darn it.
And, believe me, if the FIOS was ready to go in my neighborhood, I'd drop all my comcast b.s. to go with that. And the direct tv thing is MORE expensive...so I'm at a loss. Blah.
